XOsoft has released an enhanced version of its WANSync Server application availability software platform optimized specifically for IBM AIX-based systems. WANSync Server for AIX can be implemented in a matter of minutes with no disruption to IT operations.
The company said the new WANSync Server for AIX is the only real-time data synchronization and replication software solution that enables system administrators to protect the integrity and availability of entire AIX-based corporate information repositories across multiple servers around the world, without interrupting their organizations' operations. WANSync Server ensures seamless availability by synchronizing entire servers and constantly replicating them to either local or remote replicas in real time. Should an AIX server fail for any reason, a WANSync Server replica will take its place to provide the fastest path to recovery.
A snapshot-based undo capability, based on XOsoft's Rewind technology, also provides complete protection against data corruption, allowing system administrators to instantaneously rewind servers to a previous consistent state.
WANSync Server for AIX also provides a storage migration solution, allowing initiation of data migration processes from one server to another or even from one file system to another (such as IBM's TotalStorage SAN file system) on the same server. Once data migration has been completed, administrators may "switch on" WANSync Server's entire range of disaster recovery and application server availability services with a simple license activation.
