Compaq Offers Latest Intel Processor Technology In Proliant 8-Way Server Line - Brief Article - Product Announcement


Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSA: CPQ) announced ProLiant 8-Way server models featuring the latest Intel Pentium III Xeon processor technology. The ProLiant 8000 and ProLiant 8500, which lead the Intel-based 8-Way server market with 76 percent worldwide market share, will be offered with new Intel Pentium III Xeon processors at 700MHz with 1 and 2MB of Advanced Transfer Cache. Compaq is taking orders for ProLiant 8-Way servers containing the new 700MHz Intel Pentium III Xeon processors immediately.
