MMF Cash Drawer recently announced that its cash drawer products have been certified for the new Windows Embedded for Point of Service software platform. The Windows Embedded for Point of Service software platform will enable retail and hospitality organizations to simplify the setup, use and management of their point of service (POS) systems. Windows Embedded for Point of Service is the first industry-specific software platform to provide plug-and-play functionality that enables retail peripherals to be easily installed and managed. As part of the Windows Embedded for Point of Service verification program’s plug-and-play requirements, MMF has created new Service Objects to ensure 100% compatibility with the new software platform.
“MMF Cash Drawer drivers have been developed to meet the compatibility requirements of Windows Embedded for Point of Service and provide users with the added benefits of cash drawer statistics reporting, field upgradeability and a low cost of ownership,” stated MMF Vice President and General Manager Bill Youngquist. “For 50% of the price of a new cash drawer, existing or future customers of the current series of Heritage cash drawers can easily upgrade them to USB to take advantage of Microsoft's Windows Embedded for Point of Service software platform. This easy change to USB will aid MMF users in the transition to WEPOS.”
